BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include providing leadership and managing the Adult Detention Facility. Managing staff to include assigning work, evaluating performance and making termination and disciplinary recommendations. Administering budgets, developing goals and objectives; providing leadership and guidance to staff, preparing and authorizing responses to policy positions and decisions. Coordinates activities between the jail and other departments and agencies. Ensuring discipline and constitutional rights within the inmate population; developing and implementing and enforcing jail policies and procedures. Prepares reviews and presents statistical data. Participation on various boards and committees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related field, and eight years progressively responsible jail or prison experience including two years of managerial experience. Knowledge of constitutional law on inmate’s rights, Federal, State and Local laws pertaining to incarcerated persons and American Correctional Association standards for jail operations and management.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT IS REQUIRED TO TAKE PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL AND DRUG SCREEN.

Salary Range $5,165.34 - $6,890.00/mo.
